Matthew Rodrigues: You always hear about co-stars falling in love on set, but what about when those co-stars are playing siblings, talk about awkward. Entertainment Editor Maggie Pehanick is here to fill us in on the TV stars who were related on-screen but dated off-screen.
Maggie Pehanick: Let's start off with Parenthood, which is in its final season. This stars Lauren Graham and Peter Krause as Braverman siblings Adam and Sarah. They started dating during the show's first season back in 2010 and they are actually still an item.
Matthew Rodrigues: There was another set of TV siblings who fell in love, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter from Dexter.
Maggie Pehanick: That's right, yeah. In the show Jennifer Carpenter played Debra, Dexter's adopted sister; in real life the stars started dating and eventually got married back in 2008. Unfortunately, the marriage only lasted two years. Matthew Rodrigues: Okay, so that must have been a little awkward, because the show went on for another four seasons. Maggie Pehanick: Actually, by all accounts it seems like they kept it very professional on set and actually remained very good friends. Matthew Rodrigues: Well, that's very good to hear! So let's move on to an old WB classic, Everwood, co-stars Chris Pratt and Emily VanCamp played siblings Bright and Amy Abbott, but they also happen to be dating off-screen, a little romance there.
Maggie Pehanick: First of all, a lot of people forget that Chris Pratt even started out on this show. If you haven't seen it, YouTube it right now people.
Anyways, Chris and Emily dated for a few years, but it didn't last; Pratt started dating his now wife Anna Faris soon after they broke up.
Matthew Rodrigues: And Emily VanCamp has quite the history of dating her co-stars. Maggie Pehanick: Indeed she does, yeah. She also dated Dave Annable when they were on Brothers & Sisters, and funny enough, part of their storyline was about whether or not they were actually related and currently she is dating her Revenge co-star Josh Bowman.
Matthew Rodrigues: All right, let's bring it back to the 90s. 90201's Walsh twins, they really dated in real life.
Maggie Pehanick: How did you not know that?
Matthew Rodrigues: I didn't know. Maggie Pehanick: Yeah. Jason Priestley revealed in a Howard Stern interview that he had a fling with Shannen Doherty for a few months during their very first season.
Matthew Rodrigues: I must have just blocked that out. And this last one blows my mind, Marcia and Greg Brady from The Brady Bunch.
Maggie Pehanick: Oh, it's weird, Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams had an off-screen romance during filming, and ready for this, Barry Williams even took his on-screen mother Florence Henderson on a date when he was 15.
Matthew Rodrigues: Ew, oh my God! All right, talk about keeping it in the family. Thanks Maggie!
Maggie Pehanick: Sure!
