Steven Landau: The Museum of Discovery and Science is a great place for children and adults alike to come have a great day, an experience of learning and fun with hands-on interactive exhibits. When you first come down to the museum, you will be able to walk through and follow the Florida Water Story, immersed in our Florida Ecoscape System.
As you continue on forwards, you are going to find yourself in our Florida Storm Center. You are going to be able to step into hurricane force winds; you will be able to be a weather reporter at a news station, and also be able to make clouds and see all this phenomena take place.
From the weather, we are going to move over into our Everglades area. In the Everglades, you will be able to go on your own virtual airboat ride, which will take you through the Florida Everglades. You will be able to see and feel what its really like to be out there in the swamps of Florida.
Mark: This guys name is Elvis. He is whats called an Eastern Indigo Snake. Eastern Indigos are probably one of the rarest native spices of snake in the United States. Peggy: Something unique here at the Museum of Discovery and Science is we do not tape their mouth shut; their mouth is fully functional, they can bite, but by holding my fingers here I can hold his head. So I can safely say to somebody, would you like to pat the gator, and they can.
Jeanette: And we are standing at our Otters at Play Exhibit. So this provides our guests with a really up close and personal look at our otters to see the way that they swim while they are in the water, and also how they interact with each other while they are outside the water. People will kind of just comment to me about how cute they are and ask a lot of questions. Jean: Its hands-on, its awesome. You can do a lot of things. Like she used to come here when she was little, and she is like crazy about it. She keeps wanting to come back here like every week.
Carol Roach: We love the place. I mean, whenever we get a chance we come. Its a great place to bring your kids, they can run free. Nobody bothers them and there is so much interesting stuff to do.
Mathew Kratish: I would recommend it to every one of all ages. Us as parents, we are entertained, theres all kinds of stuff for us to do and then chasing these guys around, its fun for everybody.
