Josh Jackson: Hey, it's Josh Jackson here with Studio Bleu Dance Center in Ashburn, Virginia. We are going over different hip hop choreography and hip hop moves. Now, I am going to teach you now some choreography two-eight counts very simple, very basic hip hop dance choreography that anybody can do. The biggest thing that you need is a decent size room, so that you can move from left to right and you are not going to kick anything over, knock anything over. You can do this on carpet or you can do it on a hardwood floor or tile, does not matter.
We are going to start this out of, you do travel in doing this, you start off, you want to remember to keep your feet straight, bend your knees to start of the dance move, feet are a little bit wider and the shoulder with apart. So, this is the starting position, your arms come up very loose, don't try to flex your arms, loose fists.
Now, start off from the first count, you are going to drop your right knee in and you are going to point your right knee to the left, your right arm drops with the right knee and then you come back up on two. Drop down on three and now you are going to rise up on to your right toe, turning back around.
Here, to turn to do a half a turn, arms are still up for that whole count. So, walking through the first four counts, you hit one, two, three, four land five, as you go to land your arms come from up to down, land on five. Next, hip hop move, you do on the end count you landed on five its going to be and six. Front view of this, you have just come around, you landed here, you plant hands to come up and six you hit here.
Now, remember you are facing back in this position, so you come around and six transfer the weight to your left foot onto your heel because this is going to be a half of a heel turn. So, it's five and six and seven, arms come up as you are on your left foot, arms rise up above your body, sort of like these starting position. Push off on to your heel; plant down as your right foot hits the ground, on seven arms swing down.
Now, in the next and count you land at seven, you are going to come put all the weight on your right foot and you are going to jump up and go and eight, shoot up all the weight is on your right foot, jump and kick energy, shooting through your fingers, kick your left foot out, as you land, eight, hands are going to come down behind your back and you are going to plant left foot stop it on count number one of the next eight count.
So, going through the first count along, you start with one, two, three, four, five and six and seven and eight, one. Now, you are here with one. In the next you are going to scuff your heel that's two, as you scuff your heel your hands come from behind your back, raise up and you are going to jump up and land on your right foot on count three, so you just hit one, two, three, four. Four you are going to step your left foot stop it down, arms came up on two, they come back down behind your back when you land. So step one, two, three, four.
Now, you are here side view, front view. Step one, two, three, four. Now, you are facing this side. Five and six our left knee; right knee, left knee goes in on five; right knee goes in on six. You are facing this side five, six, hands are still behind the back; now rise up on your toes for count number seven, raising your hands above your head. Rise up seven, stop on eight. So, from the front it's five, six, seven, eight.
When we stop down on eight, feet little wider than shoulder with the part, arms coming down, crossing in front of your body and then let them hang. That finishes off, that's two-eight counts, going through a full speed you are looking out one, two, three, four, five and six, seven and eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Those are the two-eight counts for some basic hip hop dance choreography.
