Hi, I am Patsieann Misiti with the Alexandria Fire Department in Alexandria, Virginia. We have been talking to you about holiday safety and winter preparedness. Now, we are going to talk about tree ornaments.

Make sure to always use a proper stool or step ladder to reach high places. Read labels before you use anything that comes from a jar, can or spray can. Never place lighted candles on a tree or anywhere near a tree or either flammable materials. Be careful not to hang popcorn strings or candy canes on a tree when children are present. They may think that other decorations on the tree are edible as well.

Next, we are going to talk about candles and other decorations.
