Bridget Speiser of the Washington Humane Society discusses how the staff can help you adopt a cat.

Host: How can the staff help me adopt a cat?

Bridget Speiser: The staff at the shelter or at a rescue is very, very important. They are probably are going to be your biggest ally in finding the very best cat for you and for your family. You really need to rely on them and rely on their expertise and their knowledge of the animals that are in their care, to guide you again to the process of meeting this lifelong companion that will be hopefully a great addition to your family. That being said it's very, very important to listen to yourself and whether or not you are entering into a good relationship with that staff. If you feel like maybe this is not the right guidance for you or you are not getting the right recommendations or the right information, you may need to look at a couple of shelters in your area and really find again that partnership, that's going to work between staff and yourself.
