Host: How much time does caring for a cat require?
Bridget Speiser: When you are talking about time and time commitment. It's almost less amount of time as opposed to quality of time. Certainly, all animals do very well with a large quantity of time that you can spend with them.
However, certainly realistically many families are very busy, whether it's professional jobs for the parents and schools and activities for the children. So, when you do have the time to devote to caring for your animal, paying attention to your animal, playing with your animal, you really want to make that time very dedicated, focused and quality.
So, you really want to consider before you are bringing an animal into your home. Whether you all will have the capability to have several minutes in a day, where you can spend with your cat, to play one-on-one with him or her, to really interact with them.
Cats are real creatures of habit. So, they really get more attached to schedule, rather than the kind of amount. So, again keeping it consistent, keeping it regular. Five to ten minutes everyday for most cats is plenty and you should really think about that and see if you have got the time to commit before you bring an animal into your home.
