Amy Riolo: If you like cool, creamy and nutritious breakfast cereals, you will love my Almond and Peach Bulgur with Cinnamon.
The first thing I'd like to show you how to do is to prepare the bulgur. Bulgur comes dried in this form, and you can see the little grains and how dried they are. They don't get cooked, all you have to do is to soak them in some water and then the bulgur will evaporate in the water, it will be cooked and ready to eat. So it's super simple, no heat and perfect for the summer time.
All I am going to do is add enough water to cover, and I'll let this sit for about 30 minutes to an hour, and pretty soon the bulgur is going to absorb all of that water and be ready to eat. Well, I've got some readymade over here, so you can see how nice, light and fluffy it becomes after it's dropped all of the water.
So with the cereal, the first thing I'm going to do is add in my peaches, you can use any type of food that you prefer, but I really love in season peaches. Then we'll add our sliced almonds and again this is just for crunching for add nutrition, but you can definitely add a different nut if you prefer. Then I'm going to add a teaspoon of cinnamon, just tossing this all to combine.
And the next thing I'm going to do is just put it right into my serving bowl. Then I'm just going to drizzle my milk right over the top, and then I'm going to drizzle some honey on top. You can use sugar or agave nectar, whatever you prefer.
