WoW expert Steve Haines demonstrates how to play the online game World of Warcraft.

Steve Haines: Hey, I am Steve Haines World of Warcraft expert. Today, I want to talk to you about World of Warcraft. It is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game also known as an MMORPG. These games create an immersive world in which players can completely lose themselves. You create a character and you take that character from the beginning to the very end. You feature professions you interact with other players and create an entire world inside this videogame. The main thing that I love about World of Warcraft is that the people that you see in game are direct mirrors of the person who is playing the online game. So, who you are as a person influences who you are in the game and when choosing a character and starting off in the world you should pick something that represents who you want to be in this virtual world.

To start off today, we will talk about the most important part of any MMORPG or Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game that's character creation. I will also show you how to level your character up through questing and through running instances as we call them. We will also talk about the user interface and how to control your character in the World of Warcraft. The basic components we are getting to play in the World of Warcraft are a computer with high speed internet access, the software World of Warcraft preferably with the expansion pack The Burning Crusade in order to reach maximum level of 70 plus if you want to talk to the friends and meet online in real time you will need headphones or speakers and a microphone.

Some safety tips and other tips for World of Warcraft, first, make sure you keep your chair at the proper height ergonomically for game play. Second, make sure you schedule your hours in a game because like I said it's an immersive world and you can easily lose yourself to it. So, you are going to want to make sure that you schedule those hours so that you remember to go outside and see the sun or that you schedule time to feed your dog and that you spend time with your loved ones because if you get too wrapped up in the game and reaching your maximum level of 70 and you are going to find that the people in your life are not going to stick around for you.

I have been playing World of Warcraft since September of 2006. I am GM of an end game rating guild with 85 players from all around the world. I have 200 days played. So, stick around, pay attention and next step we are going to talk about character creation and interacting materials or interface in World of Warcraft.
