Jim Harris: Hi, my name is Jim Harris Secretary-Treasurer of the Alabama Horseshoe Pitchers Association. Today, we are going to talk about how to pitch horseshoes, we are going to cover the basic rules, the basic equipment used, how to handle the horseshoes and see a demonstration on how to pitch horseshoes. I want to mention safety, you will notice that each of the cords has a fence around the cords to keep some people from walking on to the cords and getting hit by a horseshoe and also, we might mention that the people that are actually pitching the horseshoes need to be careful and not wander around. They need to stay on their own court and now I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. In 31 years of pitching horseshoes I have traveled to 16 World Tournaments throughout United States and Canada. I won two Championships during that period of time in 1985 and 1999 and now I would like to tell you about the basic rules of horseshoes.
