Kathrin Rein: Orlando may be known best for its theme parks, that many may not know its also a paradise for those who love the outdoors.

Hi! This is Kathrin Rein here on the Cross Seminole Trail just North of Orlando getting a workout.

This Trail is 23 miles long, very picturesque, and some of it is designated as Floridas National Scenic Trail.

There is more than 2000 lakes and waterways. Several Great Florida State Parks, miles and miles of trails for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding, as well as wildlife and bird watching.

Many of the cabins and camping sites provide beautiful lake vistas, while others are remote and perfect for those adventurous who like to backpack in and backpack out through difficult terrain.

Just 20 miles North of Orlando, Wekiwa Springs State Park offers you a bit of everything, and is one of two recognized wild and scenic rivers in Florida.

A short drive to the West of Orlando, Lake Louisa State Park is part of a chain of 13 lakes with rolling hills and scenic landscapes.

Back here in the Cross Seminole Trail, if you get a chance, check out Big Tree Park in Longwood, where you can marvel at the 2000 year-old gigantic Cyprus named the Lady Liberty.
