Tennis Instructor Frankie Dell demonstrates how to play at the net.

Frankie Dell: Hi, I am Frankie Dell. I am a Tennis instructor here in Los Angeles. What we are going to learn today is how to play at the net. I am going to show you how to hit a volley, an overhead, what is a volley? And what is an overhead? And when and why should I use it? Now to play Tennis you going to need a Tennis racket of course, some balls, shoes, shorts and shirt. Make sure you get Tennis shoes and not say running shoes. Running shoes are made to move forward and back not really laterally and Tennis is a lateral game, so you need shoes that will allow you to move from side to side. Now if you going to play Tennis I would advice you to be in reasonably good shape, it is a demanding sport and last of all use some sunscreen.

Before we get started let me just tell you a little about myself. I grew up playing Junior Tennis in North Carolina, then played collegiately at Campbell University, then I taught for many years at Midtown Tennis Club in New York City and now I teach privately here in Los Angeles. Alright let us get started.
