    Pretzel maker Jay Stewart demonstrates how to top and bake pretzels when making Auntie Anne’s pretzels.

    Jay Stewart: Hi, I am Jay Stewart and I still haven't changed my name and I am from Auntie Anne's. I am here to show you how to make soft pretzels in your home. I have my pretzels on our cookie sheet ready for baking. Prior to putting in the oven I am going to add my toppings. I have pretzels salt and I am going to lightly salt three of my pretzels and lightly salt as a rule of thumb a couple of few grains to an average bite is good gauge. I am going to leave three of my pretzels unsalted as I will make those cinnamon sugars which I will show as we do our finishing touches after baking.

    Now that I have my pretzels lightly salted, I have my oven preheated at 450 degrees and I will put the pretzels in the oven on the center rack approximately five minutes. At five minutes you want to rotate the tray a 180 degrees and continue for two to five minutes until the pretzels are golden brown. Set timers, if you are like me, you are going to forget. Timers are strongly recommended and keep an eye on your pretzels, if it is not golden brown it is not Auntie Anne's. Next I will show you how to put the finishing touches on the pretzels.
