Host: In your mind, what is the best way to prepare for an interview?
Louise Kursmark: One of the best ways to prepare for interviews I think is to develop your success stories. I mentioned earlier that behavior based interviewing questions will ask you about a specific example. They will say, Give me an example of, tell me about a time when, describe a situation when, and so forth. That particular structure requires you to have a specific example. I recommend that you prepare your success stories in that exact format, using what we call in the careers industry the Car format. It has lots of other acronyms and names as well, but I like the car. It stands for challenge, action, result. Think about challenges that you faced, what you did about them and what was the outcome and be prepared to tell those stories in the interview that will give you all kinds of material to use, not only for the interview, but previously, for your resume, for your cover letters, for your follow-ups and just to gain a really good insight into how you approach problems and how you deliver results.
