Host: Why are first impressions so important?

Gloria MacDonald: First impressions are so important because we can t help it as human beings, we just form first impressions. We hear a lot of women saying, I don t want a man to judge me just on how I look. I don t want him to judge me on my body type or things like that. Well, the fact of the matter is, that is impossible. Men can t help it and women can t help it either. As human beings, we gather sensory, non-verbal information the minute we see someone and it's all very subconscious. So, if a woman is asking a man not to form a first impression of her based on how she looks, she is asking him literally to do the impossible. It is human nature and we can t fight against human nature.
