Cousins: When a person considers stopping drinking and when a person actually stops drinking, they are not only changing their habits from a physiological standpoint and from a psychological standpoint, they are also changing their lifestyle and in my work with folks who have a problem with alcohol and other drugs. The hardest thing they tell me is to change their lifestyle. Drinking takes place in a context and it takes place in association with other people in other activities. So, for that reason, it is important, not only not to drink and put the alcohol in one s body but it is also important to change the activities in the association.
