Take a journey with the Mercer Island High School Marching Band as they prepare for the Tournament of Roses Parade, putting them on a collision course with another marching band 3,700 miles away. In the wake of a hurricane, Mercer Island in the furthest northwestern corner of the US meets Banda Escolar de Guayanilla on the island of Puerto Rico, in the furthest southeastern corner of the US. Their journeys to Pasadena and budding partnership create amazing opportunities to teach trust, creativity, kindness, empathy, and ultimately, build lasting friendships and community across two very different worlds.
