Amsterdam’s Public Health Service is speaking out on sugar, saying it is as dangerous and addictive as alcohol and tobacco.

Amsterdam, known for its legalization of weed, is calling sugar a“dangerous” and “addictive” drug, which needs to be regulated. The head of their Public Health Service, Paul Van Der Velpen, likened sugar to alcohol and tobacco.  He says that obesity is an expanding problem and will lead to rising healthcare costs.  What does he propose?  Labels on sugar that warns that it’s addictive and can be bad your health.
