Brian Alden from Job.com describes the most common questions asked in job interviews and the best ways to answer them.

Brian Alden: So, you have landed yourself in an interview for a great job at a great company, now it's time to prepare for the interview. Let's review our three favorite interview questions and how to answer them.

The first is a bit of an icebreaker and that is, why do you want this job. This question gives you the opportunity to not only explain why you are a good fit for the job, but it also allows you to impress the interviewer with your knowledge of the company. If you can clearly explain how your skills, experience and personality fit the needs of the job as well as the overall culture of the company, you will be well on your way to ace in the interview.

The next question I am going to discuss pertains to your future, where do you see yourself in five years? It's the favorite interview question because it gives employers a feel for your ambitions and goals.

Be sure your response is genuine, but also one that will resonate with the interviewer. For example, if you envision the job to be a stepping stone that leads to larger opportunities, explain how you plan to learn the skills needed to take on additional responsibilities that contribute to the company on a larger scale.

Finally, our third favorite interview question that often stumps candidates is, describe your greatest at work achievement. This is a behavioral question that goes beyond the basics. It allows the interviewer to get inside your mind and learn several characteristics about you including how you may deal with stress, and how you perceive success at work.

Your answer should highlight your most memorable project and provide details as to why it was so successful. No matter what interview questions are thrown your way, you will be able to handle them with ease as long as you are prepared in advance.
