Nancy McBride from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children discusses if kids are more vulnerable in the summer.

Host: Are kids vulnerable in the summer?

Nancy McBride: What we have learned about summer safety is that, kids can be more vulnerable in the summer because they are out and about, they play in night outside longer, it is stays lighter longer, they may not have as much adult supervision, this is a time when kids maybe home alone while parents or guardians are working and they can become vulnerable because we know that perpetrators look for access and opportunity. So, this is a good opportunity for us to talk about what you as a parent or guardian can do to help keep your kids safer in the summer.
