Chris Bullock: Hi! My name is Chris Bullock, expert Crappie Guide here on beautiful Kerr Lake.
Today I want to talk to you about to biggest mistakes crappie anglers make. Some anglers may use a technique too long, if it's not working you got to be versatile and able to change it up with a different method and keep trying until you find one that's actually working.
You've to remember seasonal pattern. Summer and winter normally are deeper water patterns. Spring and Fall are normally shallower water patterns. Another angler mistake could be staying in one area too long. If that area is not producing be versatile again and change areas.
Another mistake is not experimenting with jig colors. Normally clear water, you use lighter color jigs and in stain water you want to use a brighter color jig. And lastly some anglers used a wrong tackle for the technique. You can't use a 16 foot trolling rod for casting.
Those are the some of the biggest mistakes a crappie angler makes.
