Expert crappie guide Chris Bullock shows us how to pick line size and color for crappie fishing.

Chris Bullock: Hi! I am Chris Bullock, expert Crappie Guide here on beautiful Kerr Lake. Today I want to talk to you about how to pick line size and color. For casting I use 6 pound test and I use 8 pound test for all of the methods of crappie fishing. The reason I use 8 pound is little stronger, it gets you hooks hung, most of the time you can pull it lose and bend your hook back and go back fishing.

When I chose my line for casting I always you use a habeas yellow line. This enables me to detect strikes that I don't feel but I can see that's very critical when crappie fishing. And that's how to pick the line size and color.
