Sarah Meyer Walsh: Hi! I am Sarah Meyer Walsh of Haute Papier and I am showing you how to make wedding invitation. Last, but not least, we are going to talk about some of the other wedding papery that you might need for your reception. So, to get started let's talk about place cards and escort cards. A lot of people are confused sometimes about the difference between the two and it is actually pretty easy. The escort card is used to escort the guest from the cocktail area to wherever they will be seated for dinner and a place card simply indicates where at the table the guest should actually sit. So this, here is an example of an escort card and it just says Dr. Romenial and then on the inside it just says table and then you fill in whatever table number they are seated at. Then when they got to the table there would be another card that looked similar and just says their name indicating which position at the table they should sit at and sometimes it also includes what they will be having for dinner just to let the servers know. So next let us talk table cards. You will need something on the table to indicate to your guest which table is which because with the escort card you have indicated to which table they need to go and somehow you need to let them know which table is the table that you have indicated. So the easiest way to do that is by creating a simple card that says the table number and then on the inside of the escort card also has a table number, so they can match. This is just an example of a simple printed card that we have made to include such information. You can also do a flat one page card simple like this that maybe you just lean against the flower arrangement or something like that. The benefit of doing a card, a printed card like this is that it has the number on the front and the back and people can read it from all direction. Something else that might be seated at the table is a menu card. This is usually, if you have had your guest choose what they wanted to eat when they were RSVPing for the wedding, it is a nice way of reminding them what the choices actually were and then they can remember what they have ordered and it just includes the basics, the salads and intermezzo the on tray choices and then the dessert and this is also really, you feel that your guest are going to select what they would like to eat when they arrive at the wedding and then they can choose from that actual menu card. Something else you might be starting to see more and more at the wedding is a cocktail menu that is positioned on the bar, suggesting some cocktails for guest, just in case, if they are not sure what they want to drink. Here is an example of an "Eat, Drink and Be Married" cocktail menu that include, Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue and you can just come up with something clever to go with each part of the thing. Something else that you might be starting to see more and more weddings is the wedding map. There are several designers out there now who will draw a cute scene map that you can include either in an out of town bag for guest or it could be actually mailed with the invitation. Here is the example of just a simple one showing where the rehearsal dinner was, where the church was, where the family lived and where the reception site was, along with the main street, so that they knew where they could go and do little things in town if they had free time. It also indicates to tourist things, to Niagara Fall and the way to the airport. There you have it, all the pieces you will need for the wedding papery to create the perfect reception and with that we have gone a various things from Save the Date to wedding invitations, to place cards to programs to menus, all the pieces you will need to create the perfect wedding ensemble for your special day. Thanks so much for watching.
