Jean Shea: Hi, my name is Jean Shea with Shea Studio Interiors and I am going to show you how to create a beautiful holiday home. The first thing I am going to show you is how to make a beautiful bow and what you need to start with is you need to start with some wired ribbon, a stapler, tin-snips, wire, scissors and that is all you need. The first step in the process is to pull off a length of ribbon and you are going to make a coil. I usually do about four coils, so, you just keep pulling it over, you want to make sure that the front end is in the middle and when you loop this last part over, you want to make sure that is beyond the midpoint.

I have one ready here, okay, so this is all ready and there is and actually there is three coils. So, if you fold this in the half and find the midpoint, take a stapler, staple that. Okay and there is actually two ways that we can make this bow, so I am going to show you two different techniques. Okay, so we have got both of them ready, now in one of them, in one of them I am going to take scissors and I going to just make a little cut, right in the middle and you will see the reason for that when I get done, okay. Now, you are going to take some wire, I am using some fancy little wire here. Okay, you going to take your wire and you going to scrunch this ribbon up and then your wire is going to go around and twist. Do the same thing with the other one, okay. Now, you are going to take a length of ribbon, however long you want, maybe about a yard and you are going to use that to create your tie at the bottom. Now, I like to scrunch the middle part up, come around, you are actually just going to tie a square knot. So, trying to show you here, you are going to come around and go through and then when you get these even, just kind of try to pull them evenly. Okay, so what you are going to be left with the something like this, alright. Then, you are going to take your wired ribbon; this is why wired ribbon is so great, is because you can manipulate it. You can spread all these little bow parts and you get your bow created and then I like to take this part and just run my fingers through it and give it, just a little bit more detail. Okay, if you wish, you can take this and you can clip it. There you have your bow and you also have a piece of wire from what we tied it, that you can tie it onto something. See, that is bow one, bow two is similar but this is the one we snipped.

We are going to take this and do the same thing, square knot, okay. You have the same basic look, but because you snipped, these bows are going to separate and it s going to create a completely different type of bow. So, what you have is a bow that is maybe more full in the center and then you can do the same thing with your ribbon. It does not take long at all, so now you have bow A and you have bow B. That is how you tie a beautiful ribbon, does not take that long, does not take many materials and the next thing I am going to show you is how to create a Place card.
