Kevin Hinds: Cross country skiing is such a great activity; it's a good exercise, family fun, accessible and a low learning curve. What a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
Rocco Lapenta: I love the freedom of it; you know getting out in the middle of winter and being able to do it anywhere, anytime. I think like any sport there is a learning curve and once you get past the difficult part, you know then it becomes thoroughly enjoyable.
Kevin Hinds: There are some basic things you'll need to know, let's talk about the equipment. First of all you'll need a good pair of skis, boots, poles and bindings. Next, the apparel you wear is very important. You want to be sure you have good outerwear, best suited for the weather conditions and the activity.
Properly layering makes good sense to ensure total comfort on the trail and full enjoyment of the activity.
It's also a good idea to bring along a pack that contains food, water, an extra jacket or fleece and may be a camera for taking some pictures along your adventure.
Ted Samuel: I would say cross country skiing overall is when you are gliding on a beautiful day; it's poetry on the snow.
Kevin Hinds: Don't let the cold keep you inside this winter. Let's get some great exercise, learn a new sport and just get out there and enjoy cross country skiing.
