Host: Do I have to eat breakfast as soon as I wake up?
Sarah Alligood: You dont necessarily have to eat breakfast as soon as you get out of bed. It is very important that you eat breakfast. Eating breakfast has all kinds of health benefits; it can help you maintain your weight, it can help you stay focused and increase your cognitive abilities even, but some people including myself, just really arent hungry. I am not hungry when I first get out of bed. So it is alright to wait until later in the day. When you really do start to feel hungry; what I like to do is stash items in my desk at work. So I have oatmeal packets, cereal bars, nuts, things of that nature so that I when get to work and I do start to feel hungry, thats when I eat my breakfast.
