Stephanie Barlow: Hi! I am Stephanie Barlow from the National Watermelon Promotion Board and I am going to show how to make clean and easy cuts from your watermelon. But truthfully there is no wrong way to cut into your watermelon.
Before we get started make sure you've run your watermelon under cool running water and pad it dry. I prefer to use nice big knife for my watermelon, but match the knife to the size of your watermelon. For this one I'll pick this chef knife.
What's an easy tip is if you cut about quarter of an inch to an half inch of your bottom. This will prevent your watermelon from rolling around. Now with your knife you're going to cut the watermelon slices straight down top to bottom in parallel.
Now that's a big slice of watermelon. Now from here you can cut your prefect triangle shapes, flat pieces to top your sandwiches and burgers or get out the cookie cutters and frost for a healthy cookie. The shapes impossibly are endless. Have fun!
