Stephanie Barlow: Hi, I am Stephanie Barlow with the National Watermelon Promotion Board. I am going to show you how to make the perfect dunking and dumping sticks from one watermelon. Before we get started make sure you've rinsed your watermelon under cool running water and pat dry. Now when I begin I like to take my knife and trim off about a quarter inch to an half an inch and this will give you a nice stable cutting surface. Your watermelon will not roll around. Now we are going to cut straight down.
Parallel cuts, about an inch apart. With your perfect watermelon slice cut it in half. So cut about an inch apart and there is your perfect watermelon dipping or dunking stick and you can eat it with anything. You can dip it in yogurts, hummuses, or even cool whip toping or caramel sauce, any sauce will do. Be imaginative.
