Dolores Killette, Vice President and Consumer Advocate at the United States Postal Service demonstrates how to properly pack and ship holiday gifts including addressing packages.

Delores Killette: Hi, I am Delores Killette from the United States Postal Service and I am sharing with you how to properly pack and ship holiday gifts. I would like to share with you now some guidelines for properly addressing packages.

Always print the address clearly. A complete address includes the recipient's name, post office box or street number, the street name, address, street, road; north, south, east, or west; the apartment number, and the city, state, and zip code. Remove or cross out any old address labels on any box that you are reusing.

Use the proper zip code. Zip codes can be found at usps.

com or you can call 1-800-ASK-USPS.

Always use a return address. It tells the post office where to return the mail, if it cannot be delivered.

Print the delivery and return address on the same side of the envelope or the package.

So that's how properly address packages. Next I would like to share some instructions for you for sending package to troops overseas.
