Host: How are stroke after-effects treated?
Dr. Nina Solenski: The most important thing that we do is to provide rehabilitation. So that means the physical therapist comes in and works with the patient to be able to get them to appoint where they gain some more independence and that's the main focus for rehabilitation and I tell all my patients that what we are looking for is to get you as independent as we possibly can. That's going to help you move, that's going to help everything. So that's very important. There are occupational therapist that come in and they try to get you back into a vocation, so that you feel like you are a part of the society again, that's very important. And then lastly speech therapy, that comes in and addresses all of the things that I mentioned about communication skills, so that again you can get back into a normal a lifestyle as possible.
