Political and public affairs analyst Ron Faucheux gives advice for people who have never run for office before, including how to deal with unfair attacks during the process.
Host: How do I deal with unfair attacks?
Ron Faucheux: Well, if you are being attacked by an opponent and the attack is unfair and it's not based on the truth and it's based on a distortion or misrepresentation, I think the first thing you have to do is you have to respond to the attack and I think you have to give people the facts. You can't let dishonest attacks go unanswered. I think you have to immediately answer them and you have to do it in a way that gives people confidence that you are telling the truth and that you have got the documented facts behind you.
