Host: How do I follow a balanced eating plan?
Sarah Alligood: It can be easy to follow a balanced eating plan because you have a lot of choices, just making sure that you get foods from all the different food groups means that there are an enormous amount of foods that you can have in your diet. For example, if you are having spaghetti for dinner, so you have got your grains with the noodles, the spaghetti sauce has some tomato, vegetables in it. Also you can add in extra vegetables, maybe put in some spinach or onions, mushrooms, you could have meat balls with it. So there you have got your meat group, a little parmesan cheese on top, you got your dairy and for the dessert maybe have some fresh berries with a little bit of leftover topping to dip in.
