The key is to stay in control and don't be afraid to ask the waiter for changes and substitutions for the recipe. For example, if something comes with a creamy sauce as per on their side, if you are ordering a salad ask for your salad dressing on the side. This keeps you in control of how many calories you are eating at these meals. If you are eating Italian food you can try just sticking with tomato sauces, if you are eating Chinese food try having steamed vegetables and brown rice. The key is making sure that you are in control of your diet when you are eating out.
