Host: How much emphasis is placed on the essays?
David Petersam: The essays are extremely important. It is very hard to overstate the importance of these essays. At the end of the day, the admissions officers can only learn so much from reviewing your transcript and your GMAT score from looking at your letters of reference and your list of extracurriculars and looking at your resume. Your essays are going to put everything in perspective. It is going to help them determine who you really are, how well prepared you are for an MBA, how important the MBA is to achieving your future career goals, why you are applying to their school, why you are hopefully, a match made in heaven for their program and what you are about to contribute to their school. The best way to show this is through your essays.
