Host: How much time will I need to devote to running?
Ron Faucheux: When you run for office you really need planning your time. A lot of candidates get in and they think they can do it is very much of a part-time effort, but they can continue to run businesses and do their jobs while they are running for office and in most cases they find they can't. Political campaigning requires an enormous effort, enormous concentration, enormous focus and there is almost no time over the course of the day that you can't need doing something to advance your candidacy, whether it's calling somebody and asking them for money or asking for political support or knocking on doors in the neighborhood or going to a meeting or making a speech or going to a debate or producing materials or learning about issues. Political campaigning takes an enormous amount of time and effort and if you don't have that time and effort available, be very careful before you run.
