Toni Lipe: I am Toni Lipe with Toni's Design Studio. Today, I am going to show you how to crochet. We are going to talk about how to hold the crochet hook and yarn, how to get started, the basic stitches including your slip stitch, single crochet through the travel crochet, how to make crochet fabric, how to increase and decrease and join new yarn and change colors. We will also talk about stitch variations. You would not need a lot of supplies to get started to crochet. You need a crochet hook, probably about a size 'G'. You will also need some more worsted weight yarn in a light color because it is easier to see your stitches. You need a pair of scissors, a measuring tape and a tapestry needle as well. Be sure to keep your crochet supplies in a tote bag or a basket to keep them accessible and out of harm's way. Before we begin, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I received my Under Graduate Degree in MBA from George Mason University. I started to crochet when I was six-years-old and have gone on from crocheting to knitting. I have tried tatting, bobbin lace, you name it. I am very excited to share crocheting with you today. So let us get started.
