How To Make A Breakfast Lasagna With Watermelon

    Stephanie Barlow: Hi! I am Stephanie Barlow with the National Watermelon Promotion Board. I am going to show you how to make some terrific watermelon recipes for kids.

    And right now we're going to do the most important meal of the day with the watermelon breakfast lasagna. It's super easy and all you need is what we have here. 4 cups of cornflakes, 2 cups of chopped watermelon, 2 cups of yogurt; this is plain you could do any flavor you like and then 2 cups of berries. And I have got a cup of strawberries and a cup of blueberries here, but you can do anything you have in your fridge, raspberries, chopped apples just to get some more vitamins in your diet.

    The first step is that we can bind all of our berries, yogurt and watermelon. I will start with the watermelon, yogurt, strawberries and blueberries and just combine them. I have got nice even distribution of yogurt to fruit.

    And now we assemble and it's very easy. Three layers of corn flakes to two layers of berries. So I'll start with the third of our cornflakes, even them out, half of our berry mixture. We want to try to keep it even as much as we can, because we are making five layers here altogether and then another layer of cornflakes, another third and the rest of our berry mixture. And again smooth out this layer. You've probably guessed the last step by now, which is the last layer of corn flakes and there we have our breakfast lasagna. This is going to give us all the energy we need to take all the day. Enjoy!
