ShurTech Brands demonstrate how to make a duct tape belt.

Kristy Kalnitzky: Hi! I'm Kristy with Duck Brand and Duck Tape. Today, I am showing you how to make crafts using duck tape. Now, I am going to show you how to make a belt out of duck tape. The materials you will need today are your favorite color tape, a belt buckle which you can either purchase online or get an inexpensive one at a thrift store and cut the buckle off, a cutting board or craft board, an executive knife, scissors and a grommet press or a hole punch.

First step is to take your favorite color duck tape. I am going to start with dark Blue and pull out a piece long enough that would wrap around your waist. Take a second piece of tape, the exact same length. I'm going to take one piece of tape and put it sticky side to sticky side only half way through the middle of the other piece of tape. Now, you can flip that extra piece of sticky side over throughout the entire length of the new belt.

And I just do the same thing for the other side. I am going to cut off the end here and you can decorate your belt however you want. So, I am going to take another piece of tape in a different color Blue, same length as this and I am going to rip it, you can also cut the tape in half and I am going to cut it in half again, so I've a thin straight to work with. I am going to go and put this down the middle of the belt, so it has a Blue strip.

So, now that it's decorated, we're going to add the buckle to it. To secure the belt buckle, take a two inch piece of duck tape and measure halfway through to the middle of the buckle and place a cut. Do the same thing on the other side and then draw a vertical line down to the other end of the tape to form a T, fold the bottom up to sticky side to sticky side and do that again until there's no more sticky side showing on that piece, attach it to the buckle with the non-sticky side on the middle part. Just do the same thing for the other side. I'm going to take another piece of duck tape and fold it in half or rip it in half or cut it and just wrap it around the belt at the end to cover the extra pieces of tape that are still showing. And on the other end, I am going to finish off this side of the belt by making a point, just using my scissors. To add grommet or holes on this side, I am just going to place the grommet where I wanted on the belt and take the grommet puncher, which you can get at a craft store and push it through. You could put about three or four holes here, enough that you think you'll need to make an adjustable belt. The final step is to make a belt loop. So, I will take a couple inch piece of duck tape, fold it in half, wrap it around this side by the buckle leaving a little space in there, so you can flip the end through and secure it with tape. Now, you have a working belt. So, that's how you make a duck tape belt. Up next, I am going to show you how to make a duck tape book cover.
