Kara Mickelson: Hi! I am Kara Mickelson, owner of Styleddelicious & Creative Culinary Group and today we're making a gyro brat hoagie. This delicious recipe from Johnsonville serves six people and it's so easy you can feed a hungry crowd with very little effort.
To get started, pre-heat your oven to 350, in a bowl combine 1 cup of sour cream, half a medium cucumber peeled, seeded and finely chopped, two minced garlic cloves, two teaspoons of fresh chopped parsley, a quarter teaspoon of salt and cracked black pepper. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
Next, grill one package of bratwurst according to the package directions for about 15 to 20 minutes. When cool enough to handle, cut into half inch by a slices. Once the brats are cooked, slice one loaf of French bread lengthwise into six individual portions and transfer to the baking sheet.
Arrange the brat slices on top of each piece of bread, bake for 350 for 10 minutes or until the bread is lightly browned. Once the bread is browned, remove it from the oven. Top with your chilled sauce and thinly sliced tomato and onion. Cut the hoagie and serve.
As you can see this gyro brat hoagie is quick and delicious, enjoy!
