Linda Stahl: Go nuts this fall and make some edible acorn treat. Hi! I am Linda Stahl and today we are going to be making KISSES acorn treat, perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
To get started we are going to make royal icing. Stir together one cup plus two tablespoon powdered sugar, one tablespoon warm water and one and a half teaspoons of pasteurized dried egg whites and beat together until spreadable. Add additional water one half teaspoon at a time to get the right consistency for you. At this point you can put the icing into a pastry bag or into a heavy duty food storage bag.
Today we are going to be making two different flavors. One with the Hershey's KISSES milk chocolate and the other one with the Hershey's KISSES pumpkin spice flavored candies. I am going to start with my milk chocolate one, so pick up the milk chocolate piece, pipe a little bit of your royal icing on to the bottom of the candy, take the small vanilla wafer cookie, press it on there like that and put it down to allow that icing to set up.
Now I am going to repeat the same procedure using my pumpkin spice candy. Once these have set up a bit, then you can come back and we will put the finishing top on. Put a little dab of your frosting on the top part of this cookie and for the milk chocolate acorns I am going to be adding a top made with REESE's peanut butter chip.
And for the pumpkin spice candy I am going to be topping that one with the Hershey's butterscotch chip. So there you have your KISSES acorn treat, a great recipe to try with your family this fall.
