Moe Harris: Hello my name is Moe Harris and today I am at the Professional Bartending School in Arlington, Virginia showing you how open up bottles of Beer without a bottle opener.
One of my favorite ways to do it is to open up a bottle of beer with another bottle of beer. We are going to have two bottles okay, each with the secure cap on. You have to make sure that you are securely underneath of the cap. All I am going to do is I am going to take this bottle, this front bottle that's going to be opened and slam it down on a hard surface such as a bar. Let's give it a try.
Right now I am going to show you how to do this with a ring. Hold your bottle firmly, get your ring, position it right underneath of the cap. You are going to position it there firmly. The inner part of my finger is going to act as the fulcrum and my arm is going to act as the lever.
Next, what I am about to show you is how to open up a bottle of beer with just using a countertop. All you are going to do is take a flat surface such as a countertop. I have got the bottle of beer. I've got to position on a countertop, right underneath the cap where I wanted it; I have a nice strong grip. All I am going to do is smack with the palm of my hand. Again make sure that this is a nice and firm and --And now I am going to show you a really creative one using a piece of paper. Okay, so we are going to take this piece of paper and we are going to fold it in half one way and again we are going to fold it the other way; we are going to fold it over again. Anyways it gets to the point where it becomes really difficult to fold.
I am going to fold this one more time, just because I realize that might not be good enough, alright so one last time. Nice grip on your piece of paper, we are going to place that right underneath of our cap, we are going to push up with a little bit of force and hopefully the cap is going to come flying off, so that I can just be able to drink this delicious beer. Okay here we go.
And right now I am going to show you how to do this with your teeth. This one isn't one that I would recommend, but if you really, really want to try it's not that difficult. There is just a little risk of chipping your teeth. You got it, right there hooked on to my bottom teeth. I got the top teeth, applying pressure to the top. We are just going to pull. That's how you open up a bottle of beer with your teeth.
