Professional recorder player and teacher Michelle Williams demonstrates how to play hot cross buns on the recorder.

Michelle Williams: Hi, I am Michelle Williams and we are at Foxes Music Company learning how to play the recorder and now I am going to teach you how to play Hot Cross Buns. In the previous lesson we have learned how to play B, A and G on the recorder. So now that's all -- the only three notes that Hot Cross Buns consist of B, A and G. So, it starts off with half notes and B, A and G are half notes and then you have quarter notes. I will play it once for you to demonstrate. One thing you want to keep your fingers close to the hole so they are ready to go, your fingers are nice and curved. Now, that is Hot Cross Buns and next I am going to teach you how to play "Merrily we roll along" on the recorder.
