Professional recorder player and teacher Michelle Williams demonstrates how to play the recorder.

Michelle Williams: Hi, I am Michelle Williams and today I am going to teaching you how to play the recorder. We are at Foxes Music Company. We are going to go over the basics, we are going to be learning about how to breathe in the recorder? How to tongue? And I will teach you how to play "Hot Cross Buns", "Merrily We Roll Along" and "When the Saints Go Marching In" and the C Major Scale. The only thing you need to start to learn to play the recorder is a recorder and you can find that at any local music store. I am a flute and recorder and piano teacher and I have been playing flute and recorder for over 25 years. I graduated from Child and Adolescent Laboratory in May of 1990 and I traveled with the Hot Jazz Orchestra. Toured with them in France, Italy and New Zealand and I have also played in Mexico and Russia and different places and all throughout the United States and now we will go on to the next step and I will teach you the basics of the recorder.
