Rafael Lima: Florida offers some great snorkeling and diving locations, but a lot of times you need a boat to get out to the best spots. Well, today I am going to show you some great snorkeling locations right from the beach, no boat needed. So along with the other stuff that I always bring, my snorkel gear, my fins, my masks, it's always a good idea to wear some sort of floatation device. I also like to wear UV covering and always, always bring a dive flag.
The rocks here at Government Cut start right from the beach, so it's just as easy as walking into the water. This was great; the water was clear and flat, but if you are looking for something with a little more history, try the Cape Florida Lighthouse. There is some pretty good snorkeling around the small rock jetty. There are a lot of great locations in Florida to snorkel right from the beach. Here is a short list.
Try Lauderdale-By-The-Sea or Coral Cove Park in Jupiter, Red Reef in Boca Raton, and of course John Pennekamp State Park in the Florida Keys.
