Jim Davis: Hi! I'm Jim Davis for Harris Teeter. I am going to show you now how to section a lemon.
First, we are going to cut off the top and the bottom. We want to peel our lemon, just like this. We want to cut that peel down so we get it between the rind, the white bitter rind and the fruit flesh of the lemon. Just like that.
Then we are going to take our knife and peel off what a little bit of white that we had left over on there.
Okay, so now we have got our lemon peeled. Now to section it we are going to cut it right down between the little thin membranes. These you use to garnish a fresh fish dish. If you have just grilled a beautiful piece of flounder, then you take it off the grill. This is the kind of garnish you want to put on it. Just a little thin slice of perfected lemon sections.
That's how you section a lemon.
