Kristen Reed: Are you currently in a job and working hard for something you really don't care about? Well, we have some steps for you on how to turn it around and really turn what you are passionate about into a career, a successful one at that.
First and foremost, ask yourself the question, what am I passionate about? Finding out the answer to this question can sometimes be very difficult, but once you do it paves the way for all other steps.
After you have figured out your passion think about the types of jobs that value it. For example, if you are someone with creative passion possibly something in the art world or even the entertainment industry would be a good area for you.
Next, network, get out there, meet people, it's important to show people what you bring to the table. The more people you meet, the greater likelihood of getting one step closer to your dream job.
Finally, it's not always what we want to hear, but you must be realistic when searching for a career you are passionate about. There is nothing wrong with following your dreams, but understand that whatever career path you choose to go down, it must be able to support the lifestyle you want.
For example, if you wish to take the starving artist route, be prepare to stretch your pennies until you are well established in the art scene. The more realistic and proactive you are in your search, the more likely you are to find career happiness.
