Elizabeth Rahavi: Hi! My name is Elizabeth Rahavi and I work at the International Food Information Council Foundation in Washington, DC. Today we are talking all about how to eat more than you think and lose weight. Next, we will be talking about how to balance your meal throughout the day.
Host: Is balancing meals all about depriving yourself of the food you love?
Elizabeth Rahavi: Balancing meals throughout the day really just means thinking about what you are going to be eating that day and then balancing out those meals accordingly. This really is not about depriving yourself of the foods that you love; for example, if you know you are going to be going out to dinner at night and you enjoy eating dessert, it's okay to enjoy some dessert. The key is to think about splitting that dessert with the other people that you are eating with, or having a lighter lunch in order to incorporate the dessert at dinner.
