Host: Is there a way to buy breakfast in the morning and have it be healthy?
Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak: A lot of people like eating out for breakfast or doing the drive-through thing and that can work. You can handle things a couple of ways. One, is you can have those items, those grab-and-go items ready to go and then not even have to really stop, but a lot of us really enjoy breakfast and enjoy breakfast meetings. A lot of the meetings I have are often over breakfast. So couple of things to keep in mind, quick serve restaurants have fruit and yogurt smoothies, thats a great choice. We can also consider with local bagel shop. The thing about the local bagel shop is there is a lot of different toppings that you can choose for your bagel. I might consider some peanut butter as an alternative to cream cheese or even just a slice of cheese, that can be really great and give you some staying power to get through those morning meetings. A lot of other quick service restaurants actually have ready to go oatmeal, right there for you or we mentioned the hard boiled eggs, these are easy to go as well. But when you are at a meeting and it's often a sit down place you have lot more options. You might be able to even order some whole wheat toast, maybe even a side of a low fat breakfast meat; you may even be able to order an egg omelet with egg whites or egg substitute and you can ask them to put in a bunch of vegetables. Dont be afraid to ask for what you want and the other thing to consider is if you do have an egg breakfast, always consider if you can, preparing it with some fresh fruit.
