David Penland: Hi! I'm David with the Northern Virginia Swim League and this morning I'm teaching you how to teach your child how to swim and in this segment we are going to talk about how to blow bubbles under water. Now when you are teaching your child how to be comfortable in the water, it's important to teach them how they can breathe. So, since you can't breathe under water, you have to learn how to blow bubbles. Now in order to make this more comfortable for you child, I recommend that you get them a good pair of goggles. Now when you are choosing a pair of goggles, you want to make sure that you have goggles that have a good suction on it. So when you stick them to your face, they stay. This way they don't leak. Now John and I are going to show you how to blow bubbles under water. John are you ready. Alright, one, two, three. And come up for air. Now when you are teaching your child how to blow bubbles under water, you want to make sure you start slow.
Okay, the real thing here is you just try not to breathe in the water, okay. So John and I are going to start off and we are just going to go, blow bubbles for two seconds under water, right. John: Yeah. David Penland: Alright, let's go. Good job. Once you are comfortable, you can blow bubbles for a little bit longer. Ready? Next, we are going to talk about floating on your back.
