Lorde takes home “Top Song of the Year” award at the Grammy’s, proving she might be “royal” after all.

Hi I’m Emerald with your PopSocial Update.

Who was the Queen of the night at the Grammy’s?

Not bad for a 17-year-old.  Lorde had a lot of reasons to celebrate at the Grammy’s.  The New Zealander might be a new comer on the pop scene, but that didn’t stop her from scooping the top prize of “Song of the Year.”  The teen singer beat the likes of Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, and Katy Perry to receive the coveted trophy.  Taking to the stage, the chart newbie admitted “this is the one thing I didn’t expect tonight.”  But the success didn’t end there as Lorde also managed to swing best pop solo performance on the night.  It’s no surprise the vampish lady is fitting in just fine.  She’s already best friends with Taylor Swift and Beyonce.

She’ll “never be royal” but she’s definitely already ascended to pop royalty.
