Ed Mattern: Hi! I am Ed Mattern with Interstate Worldwide Relocation. Today we are going to talk to you about how to plan for a move. Now we are going to tell you everything that you need to know when your move is two to four weeks out. Try not to move during the summer months, specifically May through August. Resources for everyone are stretched at this time and it could be difficult to secure the resources that you need to conduct your move properly. About 30 days out, you want to start arranging for the termination of your utilities at origin, where you currently reside, and prearrange the turning on of your utilities at destination, your new residence. You also want to identity the sale or donation of those items you don't wish to move. About 14 days out, you want to complete a change of address form for the United States Post Office. You can either do this at the post office or by logging on to the Internet at www.
com. If you have children or pets, you want to prearrange for a sitter. The sitter should pick up the children or pets the night before or early the morning of the move. Up next, we are going to talk to you about what you need to do one week prior to your move.
